Don’t drink thee blue milk.

Eh…Let me start out by giving you my apologies for almost never commenting back…I’ve tried, but I haven’t had the time and I’m still only on the Internet for a few minutes a day due to my dang’d compy. I’m still able to go on IM though…Yet again, I’ll be trying harder to comment a little quicker this time...BUT ANYWAY. This past weekend was an amazing weekend due to two great shows and Youth group. Also one thing you may have noticed when you went to my site was is my edited profile. Huzah! I’ll be changing it any time now to make it better, but go look through it if you’re feeling odd enough.

But now for my life. I have two weeks left of my Summer break, so I suppose I should find something to do real fast. Tomorrow I’ll be gone all day, but after that I should be home for the most part. So since summer’s ending…School’s starting.  I guess you could say that I’m not overly excited, but all’s not lost. I’ll be doing an online school this year. Sounds interesting, but I guess it actually works VERY well. Plus I only need to do tests, projects, and go on trips with the class. Thus I don’t need to take a gazillion classes a day. Plus I can get done by around February. Should be good, but I’ll be enjoying these last two weeks of Summer for now.  So here’s a question for you people whom are not adults or Mums; When do you get off Summer break? Anyway, to save you a minute of time, I won’t post my full concert reviews (In less you want me to ) But I’ll try keeping these three reviews one-two paragraphs each. I’ll start with Friday night’s Kids in the Way CD release party.

Kids in the Way concert /w Kids in the Way, Fireflight, and Eleventyseven.
Yesh. This ended up being an incredible show due to a number of things, but I was also working at this show, so I left home at around 2:30 PM, and set up the stage/got the place ready for the concert. About four hours later, the doors opened and I found a dozen of people I knew that I hadn’t talked to in forever…Or ever.  So I talked to them till the concert started at around 7:00. First the Blink 182 rip-offs that are known as Eleventyseven played. Hahaha, they weren’t as bad as they were at cornerstone, but it still wasn’t overly amazing.  It passed the time happily though. Fireflight honestly wasn’t as good as they usually are. I got bored after their first song.  Amazing band, none the less.

Kids in the Way was great, as usual. Their set never gets old, the only part I could complain about was them playing a few much lighter songs (Amazing Grace, and a few Praise and Worship songs), back to back. I love a good ballad, but KITW can’t exactly do them as well.  It was still a great, great show though. Afterwards I took down the stage and loaded the band’s tour vans. Also the guys in KITW were cool and gave me a gazillion energy drinks. So I finally got done at around 1:30 AM. Not a bad show, eh?

Annnd, the next day I saw Staple’s last show /w This Fire’s Embrace and The Machine. It pretty much went ah-like-ah this-ah:

Soo, I got to the Venue/Church/School a little late and the line was already pretty far backed up. Hah, it seemed pretty filled. After almost 30 minutes I got in, and the concert started a few minutes after I came. Haha. First a band called The Machine played. They actually weren’t bad, especially for a new local band. Their music seemed to be a mix between Heavy Metal, Hardcore metal, Metalcore, and Hard rock. They seemed very new and un-experienced though, but with a little more practice, they could very well become a band to watch out for. This Fires Embrace played shortly after them. They sounded a little too much like Killswitch Engage (They used to even play a cover of Darkness Falls by KSE), but they were pretty good. My dad ended up buying their six song CD after the show, and I was a little disappointed with it. They defiantly sounded better live.

Then Staple played their final show…Haha, I’ve seen them around 15 over these past 5 years, and they’ve had a few great shows…And a few not so great shows.  This one was in-between. They started out pretty well, then they played a few acoustic songs, which I like acoustic music a lot; however Staple isn’t as good at playing acoustic music as say: Mae, Sufjan Stevens, Sanctus Real, or even Mortal Treason.   Plus after their acoustic songs, their set and their crowd, both slowed down. But they ended their set very well by playing the everly so popular, Good Grief. Great song. Yeah Kate, I got 6.

And last of all last night I saw The #12 looks like you /w Fear Before the March and Flames, Heavy Heavy, Low Low, and The Jonbenet.

I’ll keep this review short, but pretty much it was one of the best Metalcore shows I’ve been to. The Jonbenet had some of the craziest stage presence since The Chariot’s old live show, Heavy Heavy Low Low was pretty much just your average metalcore, Fear Before had pretty good lights-But the music wasn’t overly special, and The #12 was amazing. Crazy goodness. Go look them up and listen fo’ sho!

So those were the concerts I saw this past week all summed up into 5 paragraph's. But now that those are over…Here are a few more coming up that I’ll be at…

September 10th: Shout fest /w Pillar, Falling Up, Krystal Meyers, Eleventyseven, Fireflight, Decyfer Down, J Remy, Manafest, Nevertheless, Flatfoot 56, Building 429, By the Tree, Fighting Instinct, Roads to Rome, Decemberadio! (Rawrz! It’s at my church & I’ll be working. Be sure to try to make it out)

September 23rd: Megadeth /w Opeth, Arch Enemy, and a few others such as Lamb of God.
September 27th: Relient K /w Hawthorn Heights, Emery, and Plain white T’s.

September 29th: Third Day /w David Crowder
October 12th: He is Legend /w Far-less and The Devil wears prada
November 3rd: The Blood Brothers

…And some shows I won’t be at.

Purple Door! (Noooo...I'm Rideless.)

September 13th: The Myraid. (Dang’d 18+ shows)

September 23rd: Sonfest /w Skillet, Spoken, Jeremy Camp, Krystal Meyers, Grits, Mainstay, Pocket Full of Rocks, and The Elms. (Sorry, same day as Megadeth, Opeth, and Arch Enemy…)

AND NOW FOR MORE MUSIC GOODNESS. Here’s the annual CD’s I’ve been listening to section. Don’t worry, after this update I’ll be posting this bit on my myspace instead, thus I won’t have anymore huge updates. But here are the CD’s I recently bought/got/Just listened to:

Hank Williams – American Music Legends II (Ahh, you have to understand something about me. I really don’t care for most country music besides a few exceptions. Hank Williams has had a few songs that I’ve loved, but not enough to buy one of his full CD’s. But this CD is different. I love all 10 songs on this greatest hits CD! Not only are all the songs great, but they’ve cleaned up the sound, thus making songs such as “Honky Tonk Blues” and “I’m so Lonesome I could cry” even better.  Mmmmm. This has got to be one of the best Country CD’s besides almost anything by Johnny Cash or The Carter Family) Overall rating: 9.2/10

Deftones – S/T. (Ehhh, I really tried to get into this CD, but it’s hard for me to get into. It was nice hearing some unique Alternative Metal, but it isn’t for me. The vocals remind me of a mix between MeWithoutYou, As Cities Burn, and the Deftone’s own little sound. One problem with their S/T album is that they try to hard to make a few ballad tracks, which the vocals don’t sound right on. The three songs off this CD that have stuck with me have been the first two tracks, “Hexagram” and “Needles ands Pins” & the second to last ballad, “Anniversary of an Uninteresting Event”) Overall rating: 7.8/10

Bob Dylan – Love & Theft (Great lyrics, but Dylan really can’t sing like he used to. Oh well, at least he doesn’t sound as bad as The Rolling Stones do now…And he doesn’t look as bad as the Rolling Stones do.  I pretty much got tired of this CD on only the second listen, although the songs “Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum” and “Sugar Baby” have still been songs that I don’t mind playing over and over again) Overall rating: 6.4/10. (Although I’d give the song “Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum” an 8.9/10)

Fallout Boy – From Under the Cork Tree. (Ahahahha. Dangit, I don’t even know how I should be reviewing this CD.  I can’t decided if I want to start making fun of the band – Or actually point out the positive points on it.  Lol, let me start out by saying this then: Fallout Boy has got to either be the most Underrated or Overrated band ever. Most people either don’t give the band enough credit for playing some semi-unique pop-rock; or they think that FOB IZ THEE WOLRDZ GREATESTEST BAND EVA!!!1. This band is neither of those. So here’s a slightly longer than short review for From Under the Cork Tree:

Let me start with the Track names. Hah, I have to admit that I had a smile when I saw that the track listing included songs named “I Slept with someone in Fallout Boy and all I got was this Stupid song written about me” & “Champagne for my real friends, Real pain for my sham friends” The only problem is that they’re pop-rock – Not Alternative like Sufjan Stevens, who can go by with giving his songs ridiculously long names. Haha, I can just imagine the 12 year old girls going to a FOB concert and yelling out “PLAY ‘OUR LAWYER MADE US CHANGE THE NAME OF THIS SONG SO WE WOULDN’T GET SUED!’!!!” Hahaha. Good thing I’m not planning on seeing them live any year soon.

But now for the actual music. Haha, WHAT SHOULD I SAY?! If I hear the song “Sugar we’re going down” one more time, I swear I’m going to kill my radio by smashing it with a hammer. But apart from a few crappy songs, this album is actually pretty good. That’s right, I said it.  Fallout Boy’s worth listening to. They have around 6 songs just on FUTCT that I’m actually going to be putting on a playlist. However they are still FAR from being a favorite of mine, and after seeing a dozen of cheesy videos of them live; I’d have to say that I’d rather stick to The All-American Rejects & Panic! At the Disco for my pop-rock.

But now it’s time for the final question: Should you buy it? Hm...Defiantly DO NOT pay the full $12 for it, but I’d conceder going to a used records store and buying it for around $5, then I'd hurry up, buy it, stick it in your pocket and walk out making sure no one just saw you buying Fallout Boys CD.  Overall rating: 7.6/10

Band of the week/day: Horde. They were the first Christian Black metal band, and they(he) released only one CD, yet that one CD started a dozen of other Christian black metal bands. IMO, they sound quite a bit like a Darkthrone rip-off, but I still enjoy listening to them, as well as respect them for jumping into the black metal community. So in the end they’re far from the best black metal band ever, but they made a big move, and without them you probably wouldn’t have a lot of the Christian metal bands that are around today. (Overall rating: 7.9/10)

Other bands I’ve been listening to: Fallout Boy, Deftones, Lucerin Blue, TFK, Skillet, Jars of Clay, My Final Breath, Staple, Bolt Thrower, Immortal, X-Ray of a Graveyard, and Sletchvalk.

I love it how almost all this summer my updates have been 90% on music. Haha, don’t worry. I actually have a few good updates coming up which will include pictures, Top ten ways on how 2 b kewl when u go back 2 skool, Bands that don’t suck list, and something about j00. Fo’sho. Arr, Once again, I’m very sorry for not having the time to comment back till right before I post. I feel bad, but I’ve still been gone…I’ll try a little harder this time, eh? Err…Comments?

Btw, props go out to these people for making the week better: Rachel, Kate, Josh, Scott, Zach, Cameron, Julee, and Stacy. Plus anyone else in less your name starts with an X, then you’ve probably been awesome lately. Have a good week everyone.

Bands break up, Swearing, CD’s, Underoath/NOFX, Ohio fair, etc!

Oy, I’m finely not crazy busy...And my Internet goes down (Which is why I still haven't been online).  Haha, oh well. It’s back now. Anyway…Two updates in a week; I’m actually almost back to my blogging.  This update will actually have a little bit more of my old blogging touch (A little on music, a little on concerts, a little on my life, and a little of debate), so here you go. I’ll start off with a topic that I’ve been thinking of lately: Swearing (Cussing, Cursing, swearing - Whatever you want to call it) I think I mentioned something on this earlier this year, but here’s a little more on how I feel about it:

 Swearing

Lately something I’ve noticed throughout churches has been swearing. Obviously it is highly looked down upon, because they’re oh so terrible and “Un-Godly” words. However you can say whatever else in church easily. (Crap, Frick, etc) Well here’s a few points I have on the topic.

  1. The whole “Just don’t cuss in Church, because it’s God’s house”…Isn’t God with you everywhere?  How’d it make a difference to him if you swear in Church or if you swear at your house?
  2. A lot of people tend to skip swearing, but say words such as Crap and Frick all the time. Doesn’t that offend some people just as much as cussing?
  3. What about if you use the words in their original meaning? AKA: The word “Damned” means to condemn to hell.  The word “Bastard” simply means “Not the real thing”. They weren’t originally used as swears, were they?

So what I’m trying to say is this: Don’t say what will bring a brother down (isn’t that a bible verse or something?) If you’ve known me for more than a day, you’ll probably realize that I very rarely swear, I say crap a lot, and I don’t really get offended when I hear someone swear. The thing is, if you start saying “CRAP” infront of someone who’s offended even by that, it’s just as bad as dropping an F’ bomb in front of them. Also I really don’t give a crap if someone starts swearing, especially if it’s without anger; it in no way bothers me, although I wouldn’t suggest doing so at all; because it brings most people down. Anyway, with that said; I’d have to say that, for the most part, swearing sounds Improper, Rude, and Immature especially when they make up 90% of your vocabulary.  Debates?

Wow, so I’m sure you all have heard about the whole UnderOath/NOFX/Warped tour incident, so what do you think about it? I really don’t feel like talking that much about it in this update, but I’d be glad to talk about it. Comments on the topic? *If you have no clue what I’m talking about, than just ask* Hmm…

Ahh, and as usual…Here’s a few CD’s I’ve been listening to, and a small review for them. (Don’t worry; I’m only posting three today )  But here are my reviews for CD’s from Weezer, Dropkick Murphy’s, and Dogwood. I’ll start out with Weezer’s “Make believe”.

Weezer – Make Believe. (Remember back when Jimmy Eats World & Weezer were both dark Second-Wave Emo bands? Eh...Well times have changed I guess.  While Weezer’s old music was some decent dark second-wave emo; their new CD “Make believe” has defiantly shown me how much they’ve changed…For the bad…And good? Hah,while Make Believe’s a little bit of a waste of money, it does have a few songs that are worth a listen or four, Mainly Beverly Hills & We’re all on Drugs. But this isn’t as good as their old  music at all; However it’s still one of my favorite Rock albums that has come out within the past 5 years or so) (Overall rating: 7.2/10)

Dropkick Murphy’s – Blackout. (The first time I listened to this CD all I could think of was “How the crap can a pop-punk band, with some light Celtic influences, become one of the most popular Celtic Punk/Rock bands, when great bands like Flatfoot 56 and Bad Haggis are hardly even known?” Hah, well like most Celtic Punk; this CD has grown on me like crazy. It went from being a disappointment – To being one of my favorite CD’s I’ve heard all year.  Very good CD, although The Dropkick Murphy’s sucks at doing Ballads, and I still like Flatfoot better ) (Overall rating: 9/10)

Dogwood – Matt Argon. (RAWRZ! Good Ole’ Dogwood! One of the best punk bands I’ve heard. Ahh, the underratedness...Matt Aragon has got to be my favorite CD Dogwood has ever put out – Yesh, it’s even better than their greatest hits CD. Plus none of the songs on this CD are worth skipping…Not yet anyway, give me a few more listens to say that for sure. This CD is amazing - from the energetic first track – all the way to the ending Ballad. Beautiful. So…Where did Dogwood go anyway?) (Overall rating: 9.2/10)

CD’s I got:

The Black Dahlia Murder – Miasma

Flogging Molly – Swagger

Plumb – Chaotic Resolve

Linkin Park – Meteora

Godspeed you black emperor! – Lift yr. Skinny fists like antennas to heaven!

Hank Williams – American music Legends II.

But now it’s time for ‘The everly so amazing that is called THE OHIO STATE FAIR’!!

Alright than, so Monday I went to the Ohio State fair from 12:00 – 10:00 P.M so I could see Steven Curtis Chapman and go to the fair. Haha, if you’re from Ohio, yet you’ve never been to the Ohio State fair; don’t worry. You’re missing a lot less than you think.  This trip to the fair interesting in almost every way. Before we left for the fair, the sky was almost clear and the weather was wonderful; Yet as soon as we got there, it poured down raining crazy, crazy hard. Within two minutes I was completely soaked, but I made it inside of a building at the fair. So I looked through, while my mom was eating a sausage the size if New Jersey. Hah, we ended up getting 2ib’s of candy, and a few overpriced salsas.

By the time that we left that building, the rain had stopped and the sun was burning. So I got a pretty great BBQ pork sandwich. Pwnzage. Haha, but after that, we went to some lame contest where you enter something into a computer, and it says if you won something. GAHZ. Well we won this CD Opener, so I tried to find out where the blade was on it. So I pressed the button a dozen of times, but nothing happened. So I slid my thumb in it…And it finely pops up! It’s just…When it popped up it sliced my thumb up pretty bad. Hahaha, it hurt like crazy for the next day, but now it’s finely healing. Grr. If I ever win another CD Opener; I’m going to go and throw it at someone. Well…Probably not. Yoda would never do something like that.

But anyway, after that we went down to see Steven Curtis Chapman. Heh. I hadn’t seen him in ages. The last time I saw him was around 10 years ago, and back than I was complaining because “His Music is too loud!” Hahahaha. We all know SCC is pretty hxc.  Haha, well we got put back in a respectable 7th Row Center, and then the show started around three minutes after we got there. He started his set with “All things new” And two other newer songs, then he played a VERY well planed mix of around 7 old songs in which he put together into one 5 minute song very well. After the mix he talked for a little while about a number of things. Very cool guy. He has a great sense of humor as well. Than the band left, and Steven Curtis Chapman did a few solo songs on the keyboard. d00d, that was by far the highlight of the day. He played a very moving un-released song called “What I’m Fighting for”, hah that may be the best Adult Contemporary song I’ve heard.

SCC than played a dozen more new songs, old songs, Praise and Worship songs, and everything else (He probably also played a random grindcore song ) And than he ended the show with “Wake the neighbors” and he ended his two hour set. Afterwards we took my niece to the petting zoo…And a llama spit on my shoe.  Thilly llama. But it’s OK, cuz I spit back at the llama. OK, not really. But it sounded pretty cool. But pretty much the Ohio state fair isn’t worth the money in less MAYBE if theirs a good show.

Band of the day/The band break up: Acceptance (RIP). Nooooo. The band Acceptance will be joining the large group of bands that have broken up this year.  Hm&I didn’t actually get to hear a lot of their music, but I remember back in my Radio U days where I’d hear that song that goes “LIKE A RIVER! IN ARIZONA! DRIED UP BEFORE EVEN BOOORN” Arr. I loved that song, even if I probably just made fun of it. Err…I’ve only heard 4-5 songs by them, so I don’t know what to say about them; but they were talented and it’s sad to see them go…(I haven’t heard enough for an overall rating )

Other bands I’ve been listening to these past two days: Dogwood, Dropkick Murphy’s, Fall out boy, Christafari, Weezer, Psalters, Bob Dylan, Deftones, and Hank Williams.

So that’s it for now. The next update probably wont be up till Monday mourning, and it’ll consist of a review for the Kids In the Way and Staple concert, School, and…A mini review for Fall out Boy’s album “From under the Cork Tree”  Yah-har! Be sure to leave a comment if you’re going to either of the concerts this weekend & we’ll discus some meet ups…Or just comment for the heck of it.  Fare well for now.

It's spelled Megadeth, not Megadeath you dorkhead.

Haha, yeah I feel stupid for spelling Megadeth with an A for these past few years. Crap. I feel like an idiot. But anyway, here’s a new update! It'll probably be the only one for the week again, but if you only read two paragraphs a day, it'll end up being an update each day. Yeah, this past week was decent. There were only very few hours that I could have a little free time, thus my xanga/compy life has been a little empty.  This next week I’ll be going to the Irish Festival on Sunday, the Ohio State Fair on Monday, Cosi on Wednesday, a Kids in the Way concert on Friday, and Staple’s last show on Saturday. So it should be another packed week; but I should have a little more time online. Yee! This will be yet another big music update…As usual. But I hope you enjoy it and don’t send viruses to my site.

Well than, before I go off posting all kinds of random crap about music and my life; I ought to say this first. Something I’ve been figuring out lately is actually letting God use my life. All Summer I’ve been praying for God to help me get this, for God to increase my friendship with this girl, for God to get me to some place, for God to make me stronger, and so on. I'm glad I’ve been praying, however, just maybe, God actually knows more than me and you.  So instead of praying for every little thing, try praying for God to lead your life however he feels necessary, and for him to lead you to whom ever he wants.  I’m fairly sure God knows a better plan.  But now that I have that out of the way; let me post a little on my week.

THE WEEK.

GAH. You know that one Flatfoot 56 show I was going on about for these past two weeks? Well let me just say that The High five sucks pretty bad and I’ll probably go and throw some kind of fruit at all the people who work there. Yeah, I was exited about the show, so I called the venue two week before the show to check if it was an all age’s show…And they said “Yes”. I even called the day before the show, and they said yes. Well Tuesday Mourning I was volunteering all day, and a few hours before the show…THEY FRICKIN CHANGED IT TO AN 18 AND OLDER ONLY CONCERT! Grr. Anyway, then my older brother was going to go (he’s 18), so he could bother me; so he went to go-And they decided to change it to a 21+ show, so he couldn’t go either.

Bleh, oh well. Luckiy Flatfoot 56 will be playing at my church on September 10th. Defiantly going to be a good show. And now my Mom and little brother like Flatfoot as well. Ehh, glad to see they like some better music; but I could go without listening to them 24/7 till they get old. I could also go without my 12 year old brother trying to sing.  Oh well, they’re an amazing band none the less.

But anyway. This week volunteering went alright. I’m not in the mode for posting a real update, so here are a few high lights from the library:

~Helping out with a Knight program in which we had Sir Roger (Or whatever his name was,) do. Yeah, I forget what he’s famous for. It was something about being one of the most certified people on Medieval history. He was pretty cool. Plus I got to wear chainmail and such. RAWRZ.

~Having some great Espresso everyday. Hah, each day I had at least one 16oz cup of Espresso. Butterscotch espresso > All.

~Lunch with a friend of mine. (Reggie) Hahaha. Oi, good times.

~And most entertainly: Weell, I always got to the library an hour before it opened, so for that hour I sat down on a bench in the back of the library reading. Hahaha, well out of nowhere some lady (she looked like she was around 23,) walks past me once or twice, then after a while stopped in front of me and looked up at me and said something like “You have a really pretty face. You should be a model for *I forget which company*!” So I blinked and said something that almost sound like “Thanks” well I was trying not to burst out laughing. Then she sat down next to me and started humming. *GIGLEZ*

But other than that, this past week I also went to a dozen of other boring things. However the Summer’s pretty much over for me. I should be home for most of the month. I’ll only be gone for a few concerts, the fair and hopefully purple door. But for the most part I should be able to talk to you guys a lot more. Good and great. Anywayz, because music has been about the only thing I’ve been updating on lately; here’s the list of CD’s I’ve bought/checked out/listened to this week…

More CD'S!

Hahaha, well to show that I was really gone this past week: I didn’t listen to any of my CD’s from Monday – Friday. The only song I put on was 10,000 Fists, by Disturbed; Which I listened to once. Although when I was at the library I got to listen to a ton of ‘teh cheese rappers’ Hahaha. Wow. I was listening to at least 4 hours of rap radio. TEH LAMENESS. Haha, but Saturday/Sunday (today) I’ve been listening to a little more music. So here are the CD’s I’ve been listening to lately:

Megadeth – The System has failed. (Holy crapit, this CD gets better after each listen! Dude, I can actually listen to this CD from back to back without getting bored, which is rare for any CD. Man. This CD was put together really well. Every song’s a little different, yet they all fit together perfectly. The only negative track is the 40 second track, “I know Jack”. But this could very well be one of my favorite metal albums of all time. And last of all: New Megadeth CD in late October!) Rating: Eh…About a 9.3/10. I’m not sure yet though.

Christafari – Valley of Decision (Ehh, it’s a good CD no doubt, however in the end it just ends up being another Reggae CD. Aka: It starts off amazingly with the first two Tracks (Valley of Decision and Can’t Stop), but after those two songs it just starts getting a little boring. Oh well, I only rented it so I didn’t waste much. I’m probably going to get the first two songs off Itunes, but not much else) Rating: 4.8/10

The Myriad – You can’t trust a Ladder (This is actually a really good album. It isn’t anything mind-blowing, and I can tell that The Myriad will probably never be one of my favorite bands; but they’re fun to listen to. Every track is at least above average, so I can listen to it from start to finish with only skipping one or two tacks easily. The first three songs and the last three songs are my favorites on it) Rating: 7.9/10

Hilary Duff – The Lizzie McGuire movie soundtrack. (Hahahahahaha. Why the heck did I even check this out? Haha, well it shows how little Disney pop music has improved. Every song makes me want to throw something at my wall, and then go jump off my roof. So I guess this isn’t the healthiest CD for me.  The mixed version of her song “Why not” is the only song that I don’t mind listening to on this CD. Gaaah. Listening to Jump 5, Aly & AJ, and Kelly Clarkson almost seems healthy after I just heard Hilary Duff ) Overall rating: 1.9/10 (The song “Why not” saved it from getting an even lower rating)

Disturbed – Ten Thousand Fists in the air (Well, first of all I only got to listen to the first 5 songs so far, so this won’t be my only review. But so far I’ve actually liked this CD a little more than I thought I would. The title track, 10,000 Fists, is actually a really good song. Although so far the other four tracks have simply been sucky Nu-Metal. Oh well, this still may be my second favorite Nu-Metal CD, right next to Demon Hunter’s S/T album. Oh yeah. The artwork for this CD sucks. ) Overall rating so far: 7.5/10

And finely: The cheesy rap Radio (IT’S CLOSE ENOUGH TO A CD). LOL. Wow, first of all let me say that Radio Rap, Radio Country, and most Radio Pop almost all suck. Yeah, what gets played on the radio I usually can’t stand, and Radio Rap is among my least favorite genres. Hah, at least some of these songs were laughable. OH. And I heard this one song where 90% of the lyrics went like this…”WAYZ TEH B GANGSTA! WAYZ TEH B GANGSTA, BROTHA! YEEEA! WAYZ TEH B GANGSTA! *PROFANITY!*” Hahahaha. I need a dew rag. Anyway at least they played some Eminem and Grits. At least those two actually have some talented) Radio Rap Rating: 2/10 (If it weren’t for Eminem, Jay-Z, and Grits; than I would’ve given it a much lower rating. Now go listen to J-Remy or The Crossmovement and enjoy some rap without crazy profanity and that actually has some talent)

And here are the CD’s that I got last week and I’ll be listening to soon:

Dropkick Murphy’s – Blackout

Weezer – Make Believe

Fallout Boy – From Under the Cork Tree

Dream Theater – Train of thought

Deftones – S/T

Alice Cooper - Dragontown

Dogwood – Matt Aragon

Dream Theater – Falling into infinity

Bob Dylan – Love and Theft

Coldplay – A rush of blood to the head

Band(s) of the week: Metalica. (Heh, well since Megadeth was band of the week last week, I thought that I should put up Metalica just so I could go with the Thrash kings.  Ehh, what should I say? Their old music was pretty good. I think they earned a fair amount of their popularity with Master of the Puppets, Justice for all, and most of their CD's up to Kill Em’ all…However I think they lost most of my respect since then.  Especially with St. Anger. Hahahaha. So pretty much Megadeth has always 0wnzed Metalica; but Metalica has had some amazing CD’s as well. Plus my dad showed me this one pretty great CD that had a lot of their concerts in Mexico. They had some nice bass and guitar solos on the CD, so I guess I ought to give them a little more attention. ) Overall rating: 7.7/10

Other bands I’ve been listening to as of late: Christafari, Flatfoot 56, Disturbed, Megadeth, The Myriad, and Some cheesy rappers

And that’s pretty much the end of another update. Tomorrow I’ll be seeing Steven Curtis Chapman at The Ohio State fair (HXC), but apart from that I should be able to go online more. But this is about all I have for now. Anyways, I’m working on two big updates that should end up getting posted some time this month, and I’m also going to make another cornerstone update or two.  Thanks for reading and such, and be sure to comment.

FARE THEE WELL.

230th update, oi I've changed. Plus ten things to do well I'm gone!

EDIT: Yahhar! New update and comments should be up tomorrow!

*ehh, can't comment back tonight. I wil tomorrow as soon as I can. Fo' real. Sorry about this.*

Alrightalright. Yeah, this is the new update. It’s full of all kinds of cheesy goodness, so be sure to read through most of it…That or simply say “Screw reading, I’ll just give you a comment so I can look cool” Either one works I guess. But anyway. About my life. This week has been another long one, and next week I start volunteering at the library for the week again. So as usual, I won’t have a lot of time for the online-ness.  But for the rest of August I should have a little more free time. So here be teh update!

…It all started on one cold & foggy mourning, on Sunday, February 6th, 2005. The sky was gray, the snow was falling, the mist arising…And the house was frickin freezing. But what made this sucky February different? Why it was on that day that I, Sean H, Started this fine blog with my own hands!! Time hast past since that cold day. Updates have come. Yes. Many…Updates…Good…Updates…Happy…Words…

Nevermind, it’s too late for that, so I give up the story tellingness. But pretty much this is my 230th update! Yeah, I’ve wasted at least a months’s worth of time on this thing, and I’ve probably wasted hours of your life on here! Pr0pz t3h m3. Hahaha, so I decided that I’d make this like…A special update and such.  Oh yeah, and I should probably update my old profile/add a little music/change the layout. Yes sir.

*So actually I was counting how many updates I’ve made, and I lost count when I was going through and counting them. So I rounded it up to 230 updates. I actually have no idea how many I’ve done, but it ties in pretty well with this update, so we’ll pretend it’s my 230th. *

But seriously, looking back at my old updates, I see how much has changed. Hahaha. Heck back last year I was an HXC fan of Relient K, POD, KJ-52, Hawk Nelson, and Kutless; I also thought the fact that a friend of mine was listening to Killswitch Engage was terrible and that he should be listening to Demon Hunter because they’re a Christian band, and something a little deeper: Two-Three year ago I was nothing but a hypocrite. I acted like how a Christian should. I read three chapters of the bible a night, I prayed a million times a day, I never said anything terrible out loud, etc. However when nobody was around me, I was doing whatever I wanted, I’d look at whatever, I’d say whatever. On the outside I was indeed a great Christian; but on the inside I was something completely different. But I’ve changed. All within these past three years; my music tastes changed completely (Thank God), how I look changed (I had short hair and two chins! ), my voice (I’ve gone from a quite brief Australian accent to more of a British. Hm. Maybe I should still work on that one. ) , my friends have changed, my time with God has grown, and pretty much everything about me has all changed with in these past three years or so. Half my old friends hardly recognize me when they see me now. It feels weird going through these changes, however this time I believe the changes were for the good.

But anywayz. Enough of that for now, and let me post a few more CD's I've been listening to as of late. Yahar! Cd’s I’ve been listening to this week:

Alice Cooper – The Eyes of Alice Cooper (Hahahhaha. First of all let me say this much: these past 15 years or so, Alice Cooper has had some of the best lyrics ever. Haha, he’s great at writing his songs. This CD is in no way Alice’s best CD, but it’s still full of great songs such as Man of the year, Novocain, and What do you want from me? So do yourself a favor and buy this CD)

Megadeath – The System has Failed (Hey, Megadeath can actually make a great comeback, unlike Metallica! Dude, this CD’s great. It’s probably my third favorite from the band. The drums are a little faster, the vocals are as fast as ever, the lyrics are brilliant, and the artwork gave me a quick laugh. Also for those worried about how the lyrics are: This album’s very clean. They say A** once on the album, but apart from that the lyrics are 100% clean. Also it was nice seeing the band use Psalms 23 for their second to last song. The only negative comment I have is that the guitaring isn’t quite as impressive, although they still sounds pretty complex)

And last of all: Five Iron Frenzy – Live proof that the youth are Revolting. (Hahaha, this is by far one of my favorite live albums. I’m usually not much of a fan for the whole “Recorded” live songs, but Five Iron Frenzy is an exception. Great album. I wish I could’ve seen them before they quit…)

CD’s I’ll be getting sometime this next week:

Make Believe – Weezer

Train of thought – Dream theater

Deftons – S/t

Matt Aragon – Dogwood.

Dragontown – Alice Cooper

And: From under the cork Tree – Fallout Boy (…)

Top ten things to do well I'm gone!!

Hahaha, so I’ve been gone most summer and I’m sure your lives have suffered greatly. But alas! I’ve made a list of some things that you could do that’ll make your lives much better, even while I’m gone for this last week. So here’s the top ten things to do while I’m gone! Enjoy!

10. Paint Christmas ornaments! Tis’ the season.

9. Actually read one or two of my updates. That could take the week right there.

8. Make me a 230th birthday cake…Wait…

7. Spam my comment box each and everyday yelling something about Sean stole my baby…And oranges!

6. Send me money.

5. Count your fingers & Toes once or twice!

4. Buy more chainsaws. Rawr.

3. Sell your soul on Ebay, and see how much you get for it.

2. Go see Flatfoot 56 on Tuesday. (0WNZED. It’s on the list, now you have to go, eh?)

1. Run around your mailbox 5 times a day yelling “It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood! Won’t you be my neighbor? Could you be mine? Would you be mine?...” And so on. With that, you shall never be bored again!

OI! Now be sure to do all of those and I’m sure you’ll manage to have a great time, even without me wasting your life through xanga, myspace, and IM! Anyway, here’s the band of the day and the like as.

Band of the day: Megadeath. Ah...Thrash metal at its finest. Nuff said. This band’s amazing. Not only are their old CD’s such as "Rust in Peace" and "Countdown to Extinction" classics; but even their newest CD, The System has failed, is still a great comeback for the band. (Much unlike the poo of Mettalica’s “St. Anger”) Also I’ve gotta give the band props for their lyrics, especially on their latest album. Btw, Dave Mustaine’s one of my favorite guitarists. (Overall rating: 9.4/10)

Other bands I’ve been listening to: Alice Cooper, Five Iron Frenzy, The Showdown, Headnoise, Crimson Moonlight, Killswitch Engage, Thrice, Lifehouse, Zao, Godspeed you Black Emperor!, and Pig Destroyer.

Oi, but once again; I’ll be gone for most of this next week, due to volunteering at the library and a few concerts. So this’ll probably be my only update this week. However after this week, I should be back for most of August. So be sure to do the stuff I posted on that list, and I shall speaketh with you later. Come on, it’s my pretty much my birthday, so comments?

Arrrrr, new entry! Return of band of the day! Concerts! yez! *Fallout boy not included*

*I'll comment back in two seconds. I just really felt like posting this first*

Heh, two updates in a week. Almost back.  But here’s a quick update for you peoplez, although I got to warn you that this update is pretty much just ideas of mine scrambled into an artificial update in which I put together in around 10 minutes. Hope you enjoy!

Let me start off on a lower note…These past three days haven’t exactly been 'Wonderful' A lot of work, having to deal with the family, and not many ‘positive’ moments.  Plus somehow I got a crazy rash all throughout my body. Oh well, things are looking brighter in these next few weeks. Thanks for those who prayed/are praying for me. It means a lot to me.

And for a positive moments of ‘teh’ week: I went to Chik-fil-a, and I was trying not to bother listening into everyone’s conversations (Yeah, I’m actually half-way polite), then out of nowhere some 3 year old at the other half of the restaurant yelled out “I’M CONSTIPATED” And I ended up having this weird smile on my face as his mom freaked out and tried to explain to everyone that she didn’t teach him that. Hahaha. Yeah, that kid was pretty awesome.

Alright, now that I have my week out of the way, it’s time for some sad news.…Sorry girls…Lance Bass of ‘N Sync, admitted that he’s indeed a gay man.  Great, first Orlando Bloom says he’s gay, now Lance! Who are the 9 year old girls supposed to all have a crush on now??? It’s a sad, sad day in Elementary school land…Wait no. It’s summer... Elementary land has yet to start. Oh well, it’s still some sad news. So yeah…I’m straight. Just thought you all ought to know that.

Ehh, I had too skip going to the everly so great Warped tour yesterday, and I had to skip the Showbread/Dead Poetic concert on Saturday.  No ride(s). Oh well. I’ve already seen Showbread, I don’t care for the new Dead Poetic, and He is Legend dropped off the Warped tour anyway, so no huge loss. However here ARE some shows I’ll be attending over the next month:

  • August 1st: FLATFOOT 56 /w FBS and The Brews! (OI! Should be one of the best shows this summer! Be there, for it’s only $5!)
  • August 7th: Steven Curtis Chapman (Ohio State fair show. Hah.)
  • August 11th: Kids in the Way /w Fireflight and Eleventyseven. (It’s at my church, so I may be working at this one again)
  • August 12th: Staple /w This Flames Embrace and some “Surprise guest bands” (Come on, it’s Staple’s last show ever. You gotta come)
  • August 16th: #12 looks like you /w Fear before the March and Flames, and Heavy heavy, low low.
  • August 18-19: (Maybe)Purple Door /w Anathallo, Psalters, Saxon Shore, Lovedrug, Mewithoutyou, Cool Hand Luke, War of the Ages, Inhale-Exhale, August burns red,  Norma Jean, The Showdown, He is Legend, Showbread, Emery, Bradley Hathaway,  Relient K, TFK, Hawk Nelson, Falling up, Last Tuesday, Copeland, Paramore, and a dozen more.
  • September 23rd: Jeremy Camp /w Grits, Skillet, The Elms, Spoken, Krystal Myers, Mainstay, and Pocket full of rocks (Sonfest)
  • September 27th: Relient K /w Hawthorn Heights, Emery, and Plain white T’s. (Nintendo Fusion tour)
  • October 12th: He is Legend /w The Devil wears Prada, Far-less, and Downtown Singapore.

ETC. Hah, should be some good times. I haven’t been to a show since cornerstone, so it should be good to start back up my summer concertness. Be sure to comment if you’re going to any of these, and I’ll try to meet up sometime before the show or something. Huzah! Thankz!

...And now it's time for: THE RETURN OF BAND OF THE DAY

Band(s) of the day: Nightwish. Thank goodness for a female-fronted power metal/Nu-Metal/Electronic metal band that actually sounds great! Sorry, but Evanescence, Lacuna Coil, and The Gathering didn’t do it for me. Yes Evanescence and Lacuna Coil both have their great moments; but that’s about it. However the female-fronted power metal band, Nightwish, on the other hand; Amaze me. The music is rather epic, and even though most their songs technically don’t have any screaming; I can’t help but scream “I WISH I HAD AN ANGEL TOOOONIGHT” whenever I hear the song “I wish I had an angel” RAWRZ. (Overall rating: 9.1/10)

*Sadly, I don’t know where you can hear a lot of their music online, but if you head over to amazon you can hear those little 30 second clips of each song*

(Other bands I’ve been listening to a lot these past few days: Virgin Black, Led Zeppelin, Sufjan Stevens/Cat Stevens, Stryper, HORSE the band, Goredeath, Flatfoot 56, Blaster the Rocketman, The Crucified and Iron Maiden)

And now’s the time that I stop talking. Sorry for the crapish-quickly put together entry. I thought about what to update on, and typed it out in less than 15 minutes, so it might look a little weird and I’m sure some parts probably don’t make any sense/I probably made a million typos. Expect a much better entry on Sunday/Monday. Huzah! Now comment before I get the Japanese to send you Godzilla so he could eat you and stuff! 0WNZED!
