This entry goes out to Scott

Yeah. That new entry is still coming.

Seriously though, thinking back at it, I started this page back in early 2005. Since then, I've either lost touch or simply stopped talking to 95% of my old xanga crowd. Same goes with myspace, middle school, theater, etc. "Friends forever" is a lot harder than it seems. The thing I'm trying to say is that, sadly, finding a friend that will last is a hard thing. I don't want to bite the heads off of any of my old friends, but people simply change. This isn't really a bad thing, but it's also definitely bitersweet.

All of you 5 readers have gone through this chain of events where you get close to a group, but then time changes a few things. Friends move on, friendships are broken, and the things that once would make you smile become memories. But through it all one thing stays constant: greater things are yet to come if you hold on to God. I get letdown seeing some of the changes I've made, but then I see that the change has opened up new doors. It takes faith and practice to open these new doors, but they're there.

I'm crazy thankful for all my friends both past and present. Each have gotten me through a part of my life and I know that they have bright plans for their future. But one of the most important things I've found is that even if I had one friend in the world, it'd be fine (Oh, Frosty returns). Somebody will always care for you. God will stay here in your time of need and in your time of praise.

Whoa. Seriously. I finally update and it's some letdown serious post? Haha. Life isn't bad at all. Take a moment and smile. God's pretty awesome.

New entry a-be coming...God bless, you guys.

Wednesday, October 15, 2008

Wow! The Asians invaded Xanga.

Well guys, it’s been two years since October 15th, 2006. I’m not sure if that day had anything to do with me xanga, but pretty much I’m just saying that it’s been a long while since I’ve been here. Today, I’m not updating my sucky Facebook. I’m not even updating my Myspace. What am I updating? My xanga. (Which..Ehh..You probably caught by now.) That’s right. I missed you.

Alright, so how’ve I been? Well, pretty good. Life’s had its crazy moments (cough, family problems, me getting ocd a year ago, Grandpa’s dead, and those one guys running for president.), but life has also had so many blessings lately (Faith, friends, goodness of Sweden, and..um..Wall-E? I dunno. I lost me.). Honestly, it’s your pick for how you balance your problems. As for me, I’m pretty good. We’ll have to become one big Xanga family here again.

So now it’s time to go classic Xanga and post a concert review from the latest show I went to:

Motorhead with Valent Thorr, Year long Distance, and those other bands.

Hurricane Ike actually hit Ohio the day of the show, so it got held back a day. It was pretty crazy, but worked out for the best. However the Misfits had to drop off the tour, but before I ate my ticket when I found out about them dropping off, I found out that they’d be playing in Columbus in about another week. I didn’t go to that show, but it probably made me happy.

I got to the show on the late day a few hours late, so I missed the first random band and, unfortunately, Year long Distance. But I did get there just in time for redneck heavy metal from Valint Thorr. Something gives a man fuzzy feelings when he sees a tall, strange dressed, and long red haired man running around the stage singing in some redneck metal band. Think Old Van Halen mixed with late 80’s heavy metal..Only with a guy who talks about mother nature not bringing a giant fist from the sky to push us away from the venue, because we ain’t get no satisfaction. How amazing. Check these guys out.

But seeing as I missed all the others, Motorhead got on quick. Man. Lenny’s a good 60+ years old, and still sounds like he sticks marshmallows in his mouth when he sings. This is amazing. Obviously, they played classics “Ace of Base” and “Overkill” (Which will both be on Guitar Hero 4 and Rock Band), but they also played some more rare songs. And yes, an acoustic one; Lenny played the harmonica. I really don’t think most people could understand what they were saying when they’d talk between songs, but I thankfully did. Yep, that’s right. Every thing from “Lat me’ hear you mak thee loudest sound you’ve eva made!” and “This next song is dedicated to William Shakespeare..What? Nobody knows him?” Ahh, goodness. Complete with guitar solos and a long impressive drum solo, this was a great show. And Lenny’s wart is pretty crazy large.

Other recent shows: Disciple, This Beautiful Republic, and Alice Cooper.

Anyways, now to actually shake things up, and give something new: a theological view on..Well, life. And Motorhead.

Theology and faith.

While I was at the Motorhead show I was talking about above, I remember praying, “God, well how are you going to use me at this show?” After that prayer, God guided me at the show. The more I look, the more I see that when trying to live a life of faith in the world, the world will see more of the Lord in you when you love the world and relate to them instead of when you bring down your beliefs and forget whatever else they bring up. You have a lot in common with a lot of non-Christians, and they want to see that you care enough to love them as friends, not as targets to show your views. You’re not going to do this alone either, Christ is with you. And when the world sees your light, they’ll come to it in time.

At this show I remember talking to a group of great guys for hours. They were awesome guys, but you know those people that every other word they say starts with an F? Well, that was them. (Swearing like crazy, smoking, etc.) The thing is we just looked at something we had in common. For us, it was music, for others it’s sewing (I don’t sew, but it’s probably great common ground. ;)). Really, that was refreshing to see God using something like this. But here’s the thing, you know when you really feel like you’re not doing anything when you try to keep your words pure or when you try leaving a Godly life to the rest of the people that are dropping strange words every other word? Well, you’re doing a lot more than you think. The world will see how you’re acting. I never told any of the people at the show that I am follower of Christ, but I showed them it. I watched what I said, showing I care for them and music. This is how I feel I should be.

And again, I even got to see results of avoiding the language and other crap. I remember talking to some of the guys I had been around after the show and towards the end of the conversation, I’d hear them correcting themselves when they’d start to swear from time to time. Instead of dropping off 300 F words in one conversation, they switched to 220 f bombs in one. I remember hearing them say something along the lines of: “Well, man. I’m such a concert whor—junkie.”, or “fffffr-eaking amazing”. (trying to clean up their language because someone else wasn’t swearing). Sum it up: don’t give up trying to keep your life pure and Christ centered, and also loving and relating. It’s making a difference.

Whoa, two short things in one entry? It really has been a while. So I have to ask, who else still uses Xanga besides me and the Asians on the front pages? It’s pretty epic having this site like a graveyard. Anyway, I should be updating this site once every week. I’ll be checking it too, so definitely get back to me and we’ll be bff’s again. Seriously, God bless you guys.

*blink*Err...Maybe I should update. :-/

Holy dang.  It's been a long while. Man...So much has gone on since I last updated. Ah...I miss my xanga days. Sorry I never updated after my random update I posted back several months ago. I haven't died or anything, I've just been either overly busy, grounded, internetless, or eating catnip or something. This update is just a short one that I'll probably edit in a week or so, but I hope you enjoy and that you've all had a fairly happy season. OI! So because I haven't updated/talked to most of you guys in forever...

1. Shoutfest pwned like crazy. (September 10th)
2. Sonfest wasn't bad either. (September 23rd)
3. I WENT TO MORE CONCERTS. (Around 7 since October)
4. October 1st, 6th, and 22nd now pwn much more. (Err...Umm...October 1st, 6th, and 22nd!)
5. TIS' MY BIRTHDAY! (November 13th)
6. Did you brush your teeth? (November 19th)
7. Happy Thanksgiving! (November 23rd)
8. I got grounded for no reason. OI! (December 3rd)
9. Sean take physics test. Sean do well in physics test. Someone breaks a thermometer and the smallest drop of mercury hits a table 9 yards away from Sean. SEAN'S SHOES MOST BE BURNED! (Sometime in December)
10. Sean gets put in play...As the lead female role! (Early December)
11. MERRY CHRISTMAS. (December 25th)
12. Um...Happy New Year! (Today, yo)

And that's about it for now. It's been a very long time since I last talked to many of you fellow xanga users, but I've remembered all of you in my prayers...I pray all has been well for everyone. I don't have much more time for an update today, but here's some things that you should be seeing in a week or so for an update...

~Christian Music: The genre? [Long paper I decided to write for school. It didn't end up half bad and I'm looking forward to seeing your replies]
~Kate pwnz all! [Thanksgiving update]
~Thy life. [HA! Me actually blogging again!]
~[2006 music awards, Best 150 songs of 06, Best 20 albums]

And yes, I'll actually be able to you guys back from a forever ago. I'll update again soon. Have a great new year.

My mouth tastes like toe again. (CD’s I bought at Cornerstone IL, Fear, and How to be cool)

The day is Sunday, so I should probably update like I said. Yep. I say no lie. Well…Besides that one thing I said about how Elmo is indeed Eminem.  Sorry, but that may have been a lie. Most sorry…Err….Moving on. Oy, my summer break has ended. It was a sad story, but I started school on Friday. Bleh. It’ll be a long year.  Jehmon. Haha, anyway, I’m not sure if I’ll continue updating xanga as much this month. It takes up a little too much time for me right now; however if I don’t update as much, I’ll actually be able to comment you guys back much more. I haven’t left the xanga world yet. Heh…Well we’ll see how it goes. I do actually have two big updates coming. Ah, but let me go on about my O’ so amazing week:

Hahaha, hm…Maybe it wasn’t that great. But I did end up seeing the ‘ohsogreat’ Stellar kart last Sunday. Hahaha, ahh…Things to do on a lone Sunday night. I really don’t feel like writing a concert review now, but let me say this much: Stellar Kart has a boring live show, Secondhand has become one of the best power-pop bands, Hour Unknown still has a great drummer, and whoever that first band was had a slow set.  Hm…Once again; I’ll post something a little bit of something that I’ve been thinking about lately: Fear.

Early this week I guess there was a Tornado about 5 miles away from house, and something interesting occurred to me about ‘Fears’. When I was younger, Tornados & Death were two things that I feared most. Yes, we all have had our fears-however now I honestly can say that I’ve given my fears to God and I don’t truly fear anything anymore (Besides God of course). Feels pretty good actually.  Not much more I have to say about this, but I just thought it was pretty interesting. Yeah…

And once again, here’s the link to the myspace CD reviews. I just posted a short review for Falling into Infinity (By Dream Theater), Meteora (by Linkin Park), and Miasma (By The Black Dahlia Murder). Thee link. And I just got these fine CD’s sometime this week:

Megadeth - Countdown to Extinction

Rush - Exit Stage left

In Flames - Soundtrack to your Escape

Bob Dylan – Under the red Sky

Beethoven - Symphonies Nos. 5 & 9

Beethoven - The very best of Beethoven

Flogging Molly – Within a mile of Home

Chyeah, and I remembered that I never really did finish my cornerstone entries, so to end it let me just post all the CD’s I bought at cornerstone-‘the land of cheap as free CD’s’ (I’ll put the genres in parenthesis for most the CD’s, but I haven’t heard some of the CD’s yet-Thus some will just have a question mark):

CORNERSTONE CD'S OF 2006:

Lengsel – Solace (Old school Solid State Black metal)

Crimson Moonlight – The Covenant Progress (Dark and fast Black metal from Norway. amazing live show)
